Am I the only one that is frustrated by the lack of life insurance/annuity news sources that we have today?

When I started in this business, we had:

– “Agent Sales Journal” GONE
– “Annuity Market News” GONE
– “Annuity News” GONE
– “Annuity News & Lifelines” GONE
– “Best’s Review”
– “Broker World”
– “The Insurance Forum” GONE
– “InsuranceNewsNet”
– “Insurance Selling” GONE
– “National Underwriter”
– “Senior Market Advisor” GONE

…and more.

Once in a great while, I will see a life insurance or annuity article in AM Best‘s “Best’s Review.” Periodically, I will find an annuity-related article in InvestmentNews. ThinkAdvisor (which used to be “National Underwriter”) has shifted to focus more on the business of investment advisors; life / annuity articles are far more infrequent than the NU days.

That leaves us with Broker World and InsuranceNewsNet for reliable, consistent articles on life insurance and annuities.

I will add that Life Annuity Specialist has come into the market, but their subscription price is prohibitive for many.

I guess we can blame this all on advertising?
