I wouldn’t buy an annuity from this guy, if you paid me

I get sick of these “news” segments, where financial services folks pay for screen time. I find that many of them have elementary knowledge of the products they are pitching, and most of them have bad information.
And so often, the topic at hand is ANNUITIES.
Things I don’t like about this segment:
Every two or three years, an annuity comes out that’s better?
>>>>>So, systematic annuity replacements are cool, regardless of the market environment- NOT.<<<<<
And on a ten-year annuity, you can get the client out with “no penalties at all?”
>>>>>COME ON! NO.<<<<<
Variable annuities are “bad?”
>>>>>No product is “bad!” They’re merely tools.<<<<<
And if an annuity doesn’t have a rider, it is no good?
>>>>>BOLOGNA!<<<<<
A “fee when you die?”
>>>>>Filth, flarn filth!<<<<<
I wouldn’t buy an annuity from this guy, if you paid me. He needs to get the facts right before he sells any more annuities. -sjm
