Performance Lock Features Proliferate as Consumers Seek to Protect Gains

Sheryl Moore, CEO of Wink, publisher of Wink‘s Sales & Market Report, which tracks the life and annuity market, said features that give consumers the option to lock in gains at a high point in the index are becoming more popular because of the steadily rising market — which brings with it the threat of a looming market correction.
“We are absolutely seeing this feature more and more over the last two years,” Moore said. Eleven insurers offer at least 35 fixed-indexed annuities with lock options, according to Wink.
