Nassau Latest to Offer High Premium Bonus on New Fixed-Indexed Annuity

“There is definitely more focus on developing bonus indexed annuities this year,” said Sheryl Moore, CEO of life and annuity market researcher Wink, publisher of Wink’s Sales & Market Report. “The favorable interest rate environment has resulted in many consumers doing rollovers and exchanges into new annuities.”

Moore said that a premium bonus is often the best way to justify replacing an older annuity, because it can offset any remaining surrender charge, which is a penalty on owners for turning in their contracts early. “This is why we are seeing much higher premium bonuses lately,” Moore added in an email.
