Nationwide announces plans to reduce workforce by 5% over the next year

Nationwide is planning to cut its workforce by 5% in the upcoming year.
As of early Friday afternoon, Nationwide had not publicly announced any layoffs, only that it plans to reduce its workforce by 5% over the next year.
The Columbus, Ohio, based insurance and financial services company with operations in the Des Moines area will be expanding use of global sourcing partnerships with their property and casualty and technology departments, resulting in some positions being moved to the new partners, some staying within Nationwide and some being eliminated, according to a statement the company issued to the Register.
