Annuity sales posted a record year in 2023, the second-consecutive high recorded by the trade group Limra, which attributed much of the surge to increasing interest in fixed products.
Fixed annuity sales jumped 36% last year to $286.2 billion, a “remarkable” increase that owed to “economic conditions and growing demand for protected investment growth,” according to Bryan Hodgens, head of Limra research.
