Executive compensation are no small cookies
June 21, 2023 by Sheryl J. Moore
I have commenced by executive compensation study of CEO pay at life/annuity insurers.
I pulled the CEO pay from a regulator’s office. In this study, I am reviewing the total compensation of 70 different insurance companies that operate in the life/annuity space.
The first thing that caught my attention?
These CEO’s salaries were not as high as I anticipated. The average take-home in 2022 was $778,188, with a high of $2,724,448.
That period, the bonuses were comparatively greater than salaries with an average bonus of $2,660,440, and a high of $21,943,050.
Not shockingly, the stock portion of compensation last year made-up the lion’s share of the package, with a mean of $1,779,770, and a high of $24,384,876.
However, overall compensation in 2022 averaged $6,388,358, with the highest-paid CEO pulling in $49,394,551. That’s no small cookies. -sjm
