CNO Financial hopes to continue to be a publicly traded U.S. company that provides attractive annuity guarantees — by setting up its own reinsurance company in Bermuda.
Executives from the Carmel, Indiana-based insurer talked about their strategy for staying in the non-variable annuity game Tuesday, during a conference call they held to go after first-quarter earnings with securities interest.

Looks like CNO Financial Group (formerly Conseco) is going to enter “the Bermuda Triangle” of annuities.
The strategy of working with an asset management firm, and a reinsurer, in the pursuit of a competitive offering is used by a great many companies in the indexed annuity market.
Yet if my memory serves me correctly, this will only be the SECOND company to enter the Bermuda Triangle, while primarily distributing products through a CAREER agency model.
