How one can “help people plan for retirement” when you are spreading misinformation about annuities?

Have I ever mentioned how I resent SmartAsset?

You know- the lead generation company that distributes “educational articles” about annuities, but gets their “education” wrong nearly every single time…

This morning, here they are in my Morning Brew newsletter again!

How can I win against companies like this?!?

“SmartAsset raised $161m to help people plan for retirement.”

I certainly cannot raise that much. My educational efforts be d@mned…

And yet, I am LOL about that line because I don’t know how one can “help people plan for retirement,” when you are spreading misinformation about annuities.

But hey- Ken Fisher is their top client, so what do they care, right?

Curious statement at the end of this ad though:

“…research suggests people who work with a financial advisor could end up with 15% more money to spend in retirement.”

First of all- “COULD.”

And next- isn’t it intuitive that if you can afford to be working with a financial advisor, that you may have more wealth? I could be wrong, but I don’t think I am. -sjm
