“Weekend Investor: The 4% Nest Egg Rule Is Cracking” (Exchange, Nov. 13) raises the question: Where’s the annuity? Easy-to-find online annuity calculators show payout annuities today providing more in annual income from $1 million than either a 4% withdrawal strategy or a 3.3% withdrawal plan in early retirement years. That’s the case whether the annuitant is male or female or takes a straight annuity on his or her life or as a two-part annuity with another person, like a spouse or partner.
