Ex-FA Gets Spot on US Olympic Team After Winning Decathlon Trials

A former financial advisor will represent the U.S. at the Tokyo Olympics after coming in first during the Olympic trials in decathlon over the weekend, according to news reports.
Garrett Scantling earned a personal-best score of 8,647 points at the trials held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., earning him a spot on the U.S. Olympic team heading to Tokyo next month, according to the Associated Press. Scantling took top marks in the shot put, 110-meter hurdles and the javelin throw, the newswire writes.
