NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Pacific Life Foundation (the Foundation) has announced grants totaling $500,000 in support of Covid-19 relief efforts in several local communities where Pacific Life employees live and work. The funds are part of a $1.75 million commitment from the Foundation toward Covid-19 relief efforts for 2020.
Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation have been at the forefront of meeting the needs of families during this difficult time. They have been there to provide emergency childcare for essential workers, providing virtual mentoring and tutoring to kids during quarantine, and helping provide basic needs and technology access for low-income families. The following Boys & Girls Clubs will each receive $50,000:
- Boys & Girls Club of Central Orange Coast (CA)
- Boys & Girls Club of Capistrano Valley (CA)
- Boys & Girls Club of Huntington Valley (CA)
- Boys & Girls Club of the Midlands (NE)
- Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg (VA)
Local food pantries and meal distribution programs have seen a considerable increase in demand since the onset of the pandemic. Beyond the $400,000 in funding provided in April to local foodbanks to strengthen the food supply chain, the following additional funding is being provided to help community organizations continue to support families in need:
- Caterina’s Club (CA) – $50,000
- Bracken’s Kitchen (CA) – $50,000
