Total 4Q2019 deferred annuity sales were $53,334,112,779. Fourth quarter deferred annuity sales were down more than 3% when compared to the previous quarter.

Total 2019 deferred annuity sales were $221,817,006,915.

Non-Variable Deferred Annuity Sales

Sales for the fourth quarter of 2019 were $26,990,563,806. Fourth quarter non-variable deferred annuity sales were down nearly 8% when compared to the previous quarter, and were down nearly 18% when compared to the same period last year.

Total 2019 non-variable Deferred sales were $122,803,440,132.

Variable Deferred Annuity Sales

Total 4Q2019 variable deferred annuity sales were $26,343,548,973. Fourth quarter variable annuity sales were up more than 1% when compared to the previous quarter.

Total 2019 variable deferred annuity sales were $99,013,566,783.

Indexed Annuity
Sales for the fourth quarter of 2019 were $17,163 million, compared with sales of $19,203 million for the fourth quarter of 2018. Fourth quarter indexed annuity sales were down more than 8% when compared to the previous quarter, and down nearly 11% when compared to the same period last year. This was a record-setting year for indexed annuity sales, topping the prior 2018 record by 7.05%.

Total 4Q2019 indexed annuity sales were $17,163,418,757.

Total 2019 indexed annuity sales were $73,291,450,467.
