New York Life to Advertise During Super Bowl
December 17, 2019 by Allison Bell
New York Life Insurance Company appears not have the rights needed at this time to put “Super Bowl” in a press release, but it expects to run a 60-second TV commercial during the upcoming Super Bowl in Miami.
The New York-based mutual insurer announced Wednesday that the commercial run between the first and second quarters of the “Big Game.”
News organizations can refer to the “Super Bowl” game in news articles, but, because the National Football League has trademarked the phrase, the league can sue organizations that use the phrase in advertising or public relations materials, according to Kevin Allen of PRDaily.com.
The 2020 Super Bowl is set to start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Feb. 2, 2020.
New York Life will be celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2020, and it will also launch a 175th anniversary branding campaign in 2020, the company said.
