Bill Cosby Spokesman Critical of AIG Over Reported Litigation Settlement

LOS ANGELES – A Bill Cosby spokesman has criticized American International Group Inc., alleging the carrier’s settlement in litigation against Cosby — stemming from the 1982 alleged attack of supermodel Janice Dickinson — has no bearing on Dickinson’s defamation allegations.
“Mr. Cosby has every confidence that, had the case proceeded to trial, a jury would have found that the statements issued by his former attorney were not defamatory,” Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt told Best’s News Service.
Dickinson said Cosby drugged and raped her in 1982, and she was one of six accusers who testified at the disgraced comedian/actor’s 2018 criminal trial. After she revealed the attack in a 2014 television interview, the Cosby legal team issued a statement saying the allegations were “fabricated and an outrageous defamatory lie.”
