Financial professionals have to meet minimum sales standards and other requirements to join MDRT. Members include many of the top life insurance and annuity sellers in the world.
MDRT has prepared for the event by producing versions of the program book in nine languages in addition to English, including two different versions of Chinese. The program book, and audio translations of the speakers’ remarks at the opening ceremony, will be available in Bahasa, Cantonese Chinese, Hindi, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish and Thai.
The MDRT Foundation is known for its charitable contributions.
This year, the foundation has chosen to add support for a nonprofit program with an international outlook: The Exodus Road.
The Exodus Road fights human trafficking by helping to pay to rescue and care for the victims of human trafficking.
The MDRT Foundation says it will give half of the donations members make during the annual meeting to that program.
Speakers at the breakout sessions will focus on topics of interest to successful financial professionals from all around the world, such as adding money management to a practice, strategies for thriving in challenging times, and analyzing life insurance policy illustrations.
Some of the sessions can give Americans insights into what is happening in the financial services markets in other countries.
At one session, for example, the speakers will talk about the state of the annuity and high-net-worth client markets in China, in Mandarin Chinese.
The program book includes a letter from MDRT President James Pittman to the attendees.
Pittman encourages the attendees to strive learn from one another as well as from the speakers on the podium.
“Every member you talk to has that one annual meeting where they gained crucial knowledge, met an inspiring peer or got that one idea that helped their business skyrocket,” Pittman writes. “Make this ‘that one meeting’ for you, for your year.”
