Roberts has been working for Ohio National since 1994. He is a certified public accountant, chartered life underwriter and fellow of the Life Management Institute.
David Acselrod, head of Premier client group integration and U.S. Department of Labor rule implementation for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co., will be MIB’s vice chairman. Before Acselrod moved to MassMutual, he worked for units of MetLife Inc.
MIB helps its 430 member insurers verify the information that consumers put on their applications for life, supplemental health and annuity products. The Braintree, Massachusetts-based group does that partly by pooling application data from member insurers. Member companies can check to see whether what consumers put in new applications matches what the same consumers have put on other applications in the past.
MIB also helps insurers gather the statistics they need to comply with the new principles-based reserving rules.
