Michael Consedine to lead NAIC

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners has hired Michael Consedine, a former Pennsylvania insurance commissioner, to be its next chief executive officer.
The Kansas City, Missouri-based insurance regulator group says Consedine will take over as CEO in early 2017. He will work in the NAIC’s Washington office.
Consedine is on track to succeed Andy Beal, the acting CEO. Ben Nelson, a Democrat who represented Nebraska in the Senate from 2001 through 2013, was the NAIC’s last permanent CEO. Nelson stepped down from that post in early 2015.
