BINGO!
November 8, 2016 by Wink RockStars
From Italy’s Lo Giuoco del Lotto D’Italia originating in 1530, to Beano reaching the U.S. in 1929 and evolving to the game we know today; Bingo has proven to be a popular game as it has continued across countries for ages. In the senior community, Bingo is great for recreational therapy and socializing. It is easy to play, to operate, and can unite the young and old.
We were thrilled to join Nina, a lovely resident at Courtyard Estates at Cedar Pointe— who is also the grandmother of our team member Anna– and all of her Cedar Pointe friends for an afternoon of the ever so popular game of Bingo. Once we arrived, Polly Johnston, a staff member at Cedar Pointe had coordinated our visit and made us feel very welcomed right from the start. Polly set the game up and we jumped right in into action.
Our communications specialist, Jamie was the caller, a very fitting role, as the other Wink RockStars– Anna, Tori, Sheryl, and Emily joined in the game and helped assist the residents with their own Bingo cards. While none of the Wink ladies got a BINGO, we all had a great afternoon with cookies and lemonade, an hour to socialize, and for a moment it seemed as though the gap between generations had lessened.
We’ll be back soon, Cedar Pointe. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

The giving spirit doesn’t stop after the holidays at Wink. We embrace this spirit every day and strive to make random acts of kindness become not-so-random. Our collective Wink family is grateful to feel blessed and as a result, we are diligent in “paying it forward” to our family, friends, colleagues, and strangers.
We have shared our acts kindness with you throughout 2016, not to draw attention to Wink but to draw your attention to how much difference we CAN make, all of us. A single act can influence dozens more.
