    Permanent, Year-Round, Part-Time Position (Approximately 20-25 hours weekly)

    Summary

    Conference Event Management (CEM), with its headquarters in its West Des Moines office in Iowa, helps companies increase their sales and or productivity by creating and implementing innovative strategies through planning and facilitating meetings, gifting strategies, travel fulfillment, incentive trips, hotel and cruise bookings, and special events worldwide. In addition, the company helps clients contract the best speakers & entertainers for their events, provides individual travel rewards, and creates custom reward strategies to create engaged employees and sales forces.

    Important Attributes:  Professional organizational experience, excellent communication skills, prior relevant experiences (ideally minimum of 2 years in a professional office setting using Excel); social media and marketing expertise beneficial.  SalesForce system understanding and daily usage (training provided – must be able to quickly utilize a high-technology CRM platform).  Understands every employee is a team player and responsible for marketing the company.  Must be EXTREMELY resourceful and be able to quickly and efficiently accomplish their responsibilities with minimal daily direction.  Must also readily accept and embrace change and technology as CEM constantly improves processes and reinvents itself to meet client needs and deal with surfacing technology. 

    The ideal candidate’s greatest strengths should be the ability to multi-task and assist team members with a multitude of office tasks and requests, with extreme accuracy, to help grow the company through strategic business development steps. This person will identify challenges and propose solid solutions.  The success of this position will lie in the rigor and discipline, and the attention paid to detail, including related processes.  

    Main Responsibilities

    MARKETING Enhance CEM Visibility and Business Development by Assisting Sales Team & Business Development Directors: SalesForce Administrator, Sales Tracking & Reporting; Proposal Development, Business Development Processes; Manage Proposals & Requests for Bids & Their Budget Estimates; Create, Write & Publish Newsletter; Handle Social Media to include Writing Blogs & Update Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn Regularly With Accuracy & Relevance with Complete Understanding & Experience Using the Latest in Marketing Tools; Manage Client Birthdays & Special Mailings; Press Releases & Testimonials; Research Leads; Marketing Campaigns, & More.

    ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE DUTIES Assist with Day-to-Day & Regularly Scheduled Responsibilities & Office Management as Requested as a Back-Up or as Needed:  Team Travel, Shipping, Package Development, Manage & Troubleshoot Technology & Phone Issues, Proofing, Team Sharing & Caring & Community Outreach Outings, & Numerous Other Projects.

    EVENT ASSISTANCE Assist Event Planning Team as Needed With Special Requests.

    ON SITE ASSISTANCE/TRIP DIRECTING Attend Some Local Events as Registration Staff (some early or late hours possible – minimal events throughout year). International &/or Domestic Travel-related Opportunities May be Made Available Which May Include Being Involved as Traveling Staff. (If the candidate hired is not selected for travel, working at events outside of Central Iowa would be excluded & is not guaranteed.) 

    OTHER As an Integral Part of the CEM Team, Responsible for Handling, Assisting or Providing Back Up as Requested for Company Services
