Pacific Life Names EVP of Life Insurance Division

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Pacific Life Insurance Co. has named Dawn Trautman executive vice president of its life insurance division.
Trautman, currently senior vice president, product and strategy management, succeeds Rick Schindler, the company said in a statement. In her new post, Pacific Life said Trautman will continue to focus on the division’s growth and profitability and continue expansion efforts.
She joined the company in 2001 as a division program manager and has held a variety of senior management roles.
Schindler has been at Pacific Life more than 26 years, leading the life insurance division the past three years. He will transition next year to an advisory role and will focus on innovation and distribution strategy, the company said, until retiring in December 2017.
Pacific Life Insurance Co., a mutual insurer, reported 2015 net premium written of $9.03 billion and net income of $519.7 million, according to BestLink.
In March, the company named five new vice presidents (Best’s News Service, March 9, 2016).
The company has a current Best’s Financial Strength Rating of A+ (Superior).
