Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) announced that it will open a satellite office in Altavista, Va., near Lynchburg.
The life insurance and employee benefits provider is planning to have the office staffed and operations by September.
The Standard’s first priority will be to establish and build teams supporting the company’s Life and Disability Services organization. The new office will be the company’s fifth regional site, along with Portland and Hillsboro, Ore., White Plains, N.Y., and Cincinnati, Ohio.
“We took a great deal of care in choosing this location for our new office,” said Dan McMillan, vice president of Employee Benefits at The Standard. “In addition to the concentration of talent in the area, Altavista, Lynchburg and the surrounding communities in Campbell County are a strong match with our corporate culture.”
“Our goal is to establish a team of 25-30 employees by the end of 2016 with plans to have 200 or more employed in this office by late 2019,” McMillan continued.
