The Role
As the Competitive Market Intelligence Consultant, you will consult, analyze and deliver on more
complex assignments and projects for Life Product Management, Life Competitive Intelligence and
Life Sales and marketing. You will also act as a resource to applicable internal and external
stakeholders. You will be responsible for the delivery of market intelligence to the enterprise.
You will be looked to for in-depth reconnaissance into the environment that Lincoln competes and to
conduct more complex research and analysis of the industry, the life insurance marketplace and our
core competitors.
As the Competitive Market Intelligence Consultant, you will consult, analyze and deliver on more
complex assignments and projects for Life Product Management, Life Competitive Intelligence and
Life Sales and marketing. You will also act as a resource to applicable internal and external
stakeholders. You will be responsible for the delivery of market intelligence to the enterprise.
You will be looked to for in-depth reconnaissance into the environment that Lincoln competes and to
conduct more complex research and analysis of the industry, the life insurance marketplace and our
core competitors.
Responsibilities
Market Intelligence
• Act as a resource to other departments in the communication of company and industry life
insurance product matters
• Serves as a resource for internal stakeholders through building an understanding of internal
client data and external market intelligence
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and/or team
members) and other internal/external partners to identify and communicate consumer trends
• Identifies and consults with internal stakeholders on business issues and objectives based on a
current understanding of consumers, customers, competitors and the marketplace.
• Develop and maintain network of industry contacts to proactively monitor the life marketplace and
to ethically acquire and disseminate competitive information
• Share detailed product and industry knowledge to actively participate in product development
process and attend product workgroups
• Provide data for a variety of increasingly complex requests, including strategic planning
documents and quarterly reports
• Develop increasingly complex competitive marketing pieces that provide our clients with
information necessary to define our product message. Work with leadership to communicate that
message to various groups throughout the organization

• Perform increasingly complex analysis of key performance criteria for all contract types
• Analyzes and addresses more complex data issues including ensuring data is carefully gathered and
cleansed
• Conducts projects to solve for business problems and identifies/recommends business development
opportunities
• Develops more complex analytical programming and models to manage and analyze data
• Consults stakeholders, developing and delivering presentations that translate analytical insights
into tangible, actionable solutions for leaders and business partners
• Shares technical knowledge with team members to identify and develop data driven insight into
customers, competitors and/or regulations

Education
• Undergraduate Degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
• Undergraduate Degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
Experience
• 3 – 5 years of experience in Life Product Management, Life Competitive Intelligence, and/or Life
Marketing or Life Sales
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) including knowledge of
systems applications and processes
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general
media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations,
policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate trends in data or information
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers
and colleagues)
• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
• A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
• Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions
• Drives performance targets to completion
