Principal unveils new corporate logo

Principal Financial Group Inc. today introduced a new corporate logo that the Des Moines-based financial services company said will provide greater unity and consistency in how it presents itself globally. “Our business has evolved a lot since we created our last logo in 1985,” CEO Dan Houston wrote in a blog post. “So we wanted our visual identity to evolve, too. It was time for a change.” A refreshed Principal.com website will debut on March 14, and it will be followed by the company’s 2015 annual report, U.S. social media and U.S. advertising. Global implementation across all markets, geographies and media will take about 18 to 24 months. Lippincott, a creative consultancy, partnered with Principal on the brand transformation.
