Business essentials: Nationwide launches eagle logo

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. announced Tuesday that it would reorganize all of its products and subsidiaries under one name — Nationwide — and launch a new logo.
The insurance company’s “N and Eagle” logo will replace its current blue frame symbol. The new logo is an update to an earlier look for the company.
“Updating our mark and going to one brand will allow customers to find us when they’re looking for solutions, both now and in the future,” CEO Steve Rasmussen said in a statement.
Nationwide currently has multiple brand names, including Allied Insurance, Nationwide Financial and Scottsdale Insurance, among others.
A company spokesman said the rebranding would take place during the next 18 months. He said Nationwide’s blue frames outside its Des Moines campus would be changed, but a time for the switch has yet to be determined.
The company employs about 4,200 people in downtown Des Moines.
