5 things to know about children’s life insurance

Justin Ross Harris is accused of killing his 22-month-old son by locking him in a hot car for several hours while Harris was at work in suburban Atlanta. He is currently locked up without bail on homicide and child cruelty charges.
Suspiciously, Harris took out two life insurance policies on his son, one for $2,000 and one for $25,000. He then gave his family instructions on how to collect those payments from behind bars, according to court documents.
