Texas Insurance Agent Gets 4 Years For Theft

GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — AHouston-area insurance agent whose company included the word “integrity” in its name has been sentenced to four years in prison for stealing from about 40 clients.
A judge inGalveston on Monday sentencedChristopher Vernon Murphy in a plea agreement and ordered him to repay about$75,000. Investigators say Murphy pleaded guilty to theft in fraud cases sinceMay 2010.
Prosecutors say Murphy operated aLeague City business calledIntegrity Insurance Agency.
Further details on the theft cases weren’t immediately available Monday.
