Four words have been sparking debate throughout the insurance industry: systemically important financial institution.
Three years ago, with the passage of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act, Congress gave the Federal Reserve Board authority to oversee companies deemed by the Financial Stability Oversight Council to be “systemically important financial institutions.”
