Guaranteed Retirement Income Rocks
A lot of workers really want to have a guaranteed income in retirement, so much that they are willing to pull the belt a little tighter in order to get it. That’s what Bank of America Merrill Lynch found out in its 2013 survey on workplace benefits.
Four out of five (79 percent) of the 1,000 employees it surveyed said they would be willing to give up 5 percent or more of their salary if it meant having reliable income to help them live comfortably during their later years. What’s more, nearly two fifths (38 percent) say they would give up 10 percent or more, and among pre-retirees, over half (52 percent) said they would give up 10 percent or more to have such a guarantee.
