Allstate Hiring 305 Agents In Pennsylvania

Sept. 26–Allstate Insurance plans to hire 305 agents in Pennsylvania over the next year in an expansion it says is fueled by the growing economy.
The company, based in Malvern, Chester County, is looking for both midcareer agency owners and managers and less-experienced applicants looking to break into the insurance business. The company will be appointing 80 agency owners and hiring 225 sales staff.
“While insurance-industry experience helps, it certainly is not a requirement,” Allstate spokeswoman Julia Reusch said.
Becoming an agency owner does require one thing: cash. Agency owners need to have at least$50,000 available to invest in their agency. There is no buy-in requirement for sales staff.
Most of the hiring, about 150 jobs, will take place in Philadelphia and its suburbs. The company plans to hire 35 people, including 10 agency owners, in northeastern Pennsylvania, a region that includes the Lehigh Valley, Reusch said.
“We target cities and areas that show growth and increasing demand as part of Allstate’s broader strategy to expand our presence in Pennsylvania,” said Ed Norcia, the company’s northeast region strategic deployment leader.
