NAPFA Names New Chair

NAPFA has named its next chairwoman.
The organization announced Tuesday thatLinda Leitz, a fee-only planner based inColorado Springs, Colo., is set to become its chairwoman in September, and will serve as chair-elect until that time.
The founder and co-owner of It’s Not Just Money, Leitz specializes in working with newly divorced clients and young adults.
She is a Certified Financial Planner and an Enrolled Agent, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Personal Financial Planning program atKansas State University.
Leitz, who also holds an MBA fromSouthern Methodist University, has also served on the board of NAPFA’sWest Region and written two personal finance books for parents: The Ultimate Parenting Map for Raising Money Smart Kids and We Need to Talk: Money and Kids After Divorce.
NAPFA’s National Board of Directors elected her to the position in late January. She’ll take over from Lauren Locker, the 2012-2013 chair, who replaced Ron Rhoades after he stepped down following a compliance violation.
