Cogent Research Advisor Touchpoints™ 2012 report ranked Jackson number one in connecting with advisors and prospects, and in internal and external wholesaler activity
LANSING, Mich. — Jackson National Life Insurance Company® (Jackson), a leading provider of retirement solutions with assets of $129.9 billion, was named the variable annuity (VA) firm with the strongest personal connection with advisors and prospects, according to the Cogent Research Advisor Touchpoints™ 2012 survey of more than 1,700 retail investment advisors across all major distribution channels. Of the respondents surveyed, 49 percent of current Jackson users and 11 percent of prospects cited Jackson as the VA firm with which they feel the strongest personal connection.
“We are immensely proud of the commitment our sales force has made to connecting with advisors,” said Greg Cicotte, president of Jackson National Life Distributors LLC (JNLD). “These results are reflective of our firm’s dedicated focus on distribution. We believe in having both quality and quantity, as we have one of the largest and most well-trained sales forces in the industry, able to frequently visit advisors, talk with them and develop a personal connection.”
According to Cogent, Jackson ranks the highest in personal connection in the national and independent channels, and among advisors with $100 million or more in assets. In addition, Jackson leads all VA providers in client activity, with 65 percent of advisors saying they had received a Jackson external wholesaler visit within the past three months, and 73 percent saying they had received a Jackson internal wholesaler phone call within the past six months. For both external and internal support, the survey showed Jackson scored strongly in key support and service attributes, as well as strong momentum among existing users.
Tom Hurley, senior vice president of Market Research for JNLD, credits Jackson’s focus on education as one of the reasons the firm scored so high in the survey. “We have a personal connection to those we do business with and even those advisors we don’t yet do business with, because we focus on bringing advisors education on trends in the industry, new products and alternatives, and the tools to help shape their investors’ portfolios. Our goal is a seamless flow of information and education from wholesaler to advisor to investor.”
The Cogent Research Advisor Touchpoints™ 2012 consisted of an online survey of 1,741 registered financial advisors, conducted between March 13 – April 18, 2012. Survey participants were required to have an active book of business of at least $5 million, and offer investment advice or planning services to individual investors.
