NAFA Selects Chris Johnson to Join Board of Directors

Milwaukee, WI – October 22, 2010 – The National Association for Fixed Annuities (NAFA) has selected S. Christopher Johnson, CLU, of Austin, TX, to join its board of directors replacing a recently retired director, Art Pickering, Senior Vice President at Forethought. Johnson’s three-year board term will officially begin at NAFA’s annual membership meeting held on Oct. 28 in Houston.
Johnson is the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at National Western Life where he has responsibility for the company’s domestic life and annuity brokerage sales, marketing activities, and product development initiatives. He has spent the past eighteen years in a range of industry positions. His experience includes serving as branch manager for a paramedical company, field and wholesale brokerage sales, agency building, broker training and support. His career also includes experience as an independent insurance professional. Johnson earned his Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1998.
“We feel very fortunate to have Chris Johnson joining our board roster, because he has extensive and varied experience in our industry – all of which will contribute to his work with NAFA,” stated Kim O’Brien, executive director of NAFA.
