Allianz Life Names Suzanne Dowd Zeller as Vice President Human Resources

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz) has named Suzanne Dowd Zeller as vice president of Human Resources. She will report directly to Allianz President and CEO Gary C. Bhojwani, and functionally to Yvonne Franzese, chief HR officer of Allianz of America, the holding company of Allianz Life.
“Suzanne has a proven track record of setting strategy, driving implementation and achieving results in the financial services industry,” Bhojwani said. “Her wealth of experience, knowledge and skills will enhance Allianz performance and employee engagement, while strengthening our employer of choice status.”
Zeller’s experience spans more than 30 years and includes domestic and international assignments. She spent seven years with The Hartford, most recently as the vice president of HR for International Wealth Management. While there she set strategy and lead HR for businesses in Japan, Europe, Canada, Brazil, and new market entries for this business with $40 billion AUM, $250 million profit and 2,500 employees. Zeller also headed human resources for Hartford Life Ltd., a start up operation based in Dublin and London. Besides The Hartford, Zeller has significant experience working in various human resources roles in a number of insurance and re-insurance companies.
Zeller earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from State University of New York – Fredonia.
